After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Shana Zampa, covering approximately 27 kilometers. Upon arrival, we are greeted by our dedicated trekking crew. Our journey on foot begins with enthusiasm, traversing 22 kilometers to reach our next campsite at 3640 meters above sea level. As we hike through Bhutan's picturesque terrain, surrounded by pristine landscapes and serene vistas, every step brings us closer to the tranquility of the Himalayan wilderness.

Rising early, we awaken to witness the majestic Jhomolhari emerge in the morning light, a breathtaking sight that inspires awe and reverence. The trek continues with a steady ascent, leading us through diverse landscapes until we reach an army camp. The scenery transforms into an alpine paradise, with rugged terrain and clear, crisp air invigorating our spirits. Following the Paro River above the tree line, we are treated to panoramic vistas of towering peaks surrounding us, their snow-capped summits glistening in the sunlight. Each step forward brings us closer to the Jhomolhari base camp at 4040 meters above sea-level where every turn reveals a new marvel of the Himalayan landscape.

The Jhomolhari Trek continues to unfold its challenges and wonders. We trace a stream, then cross to the right bank. Ascending towards the first ridge, anticipation builds until we reach the crest. Here, a breathtaking panorama unfolds: Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake, and Tserimgang peaks stand tall against the sky, their snow-capped summits glistening in the sunlight. The trail leads us onward, reaching the Nyile La pass at 4870 meters, a momentous achievement amidst Bhutan's majestic mountain scenery and finally we trek down to campsite at 4010m in Chha Shi Thang.

Start early to tackle the Yeli La Pass at 4,930 meters, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views. After crossing the pass, begin your descent through diverse landscapes, gradually making your way down to the campsite at Shodu, located at 4,080 meters. This journey offers stunning scenery, from alpine meadows to lush forests, providing an enriching trekking experience. Rest and rejuvenate at the Shodu campsite, reflecting on the day's accomplishments and the beauty of Bhutan's rugged terrain.

Leaving Shodu, trek down following the stream, enjoying the serene surroundings. After some time, the route gradually climbs for about an hour until you reach Barshong at 3,710 meters. Here, meet the driver for your journey to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city. The drive offers picturesque views of the landscape, transitioning from rugged mountains to the bustling city. Upon arrival in Thimphu, unwind and reflect on the trek's experiences, blending natural beauty with cultural immersion.
Experience a full day exploring Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city. Visit the revered Tashichho Dzong, a fortress monastery with a blend of traditional Bhutanese and modern architectural styles. Explore the Memorial Chorten, dedicated to the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, and the National Library, housing ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts. Discover the vibrant local culture at the Folk Heritage Museum and browse handicrafts at the Craft Bazaar, offering insights into Bhutan's rich cultural heritage.
Drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan. The journey includes a climb to Dochula Pass at 3,100 meters, which once marked a historical boundary. Dochula Pass offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas in November and features 108 Bhutanese-style chortens built in 2003. Explore the pass before descending through magnificent pine and rhododendron forests. Upon reaching the valley, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Chimi Lhakhang, a 15th-century temple known for its fertility rites due to the blessings of Lam Drukpa Kinley. Later, check into your hotel and visit Punakha Dzong, built by Zhabdrung in 1637, to admire its fine Bhutanese architecture and intricate wall paintings.
After breakfast, you will drive north of Punakha valley to hike the Khamsum Yuelay Namgyal Chorten. The hike will take you through the rice fields and the view of Punakha valley from the Chorten is stunning. After lunch, we will drive back to Paro. On arrival in Thimphu, we will visit Simtokha Dzong, the first and the oldest fort built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1629. We will continue our journey to Paro.
