Embark on a scenic drive to Dochula Pass, where panoramic views of the Himalayas await. Visit Chimi lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to Divine Madman, Drukpa Kuenley, known for its colorful murals and spiritual significance. Later, immerse yourself in the grandeur of Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel set amidst the confluence of two rivers, showcasing Bhutanese craftsmanship and history.
After breakfast, you will drive north of Punakha valley to hike the Khamsum Yuelay Namgyal Chorten. The hike will take you through the rice fields and the view of Punakha valley from the Chorten is stunning. After lunch, we will drive back to Paro. On arrival in Thimphu, we will visit Simtokha Dzong, the first and the oldest fort built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1629. We will continue our journey to Paro.
