After breakfast, drive to Geyney Zampa and cross the bridge to begin your ascent through an oak forest. A long climb leads to an outstanding lookout point at 3,220 meters, offering breathtaking views. The ascent becomes gentler as you continue to the campsite at Gur, situated by a yak pasture at 3,290 meters. Enjoy the serene surroundings and the unique experience of camping in Bhutan's beautiful highlands.
12KM/5 HOURS/1040M ASCENT- 110M DESCENT
After breakfast, climb from camp back to the main trail and continue gently up the ridge on a wide track. Reach the Pangalatsa Pass, marked by cairns at 4,250 meters, offering spectacular views of the entire Dagala Range. This area is prime yak country, with yak herders scattered around the picturesque Labatamba Valley. Enjoy the serene landscapes and the unique cultural experience of encountering Bhutan's yak herding community in their natural habitat. Campsite in Labatamba at 4300m.
8KM/7 HOURS/260M ASCENT-520M DESCENT
Today's trek conquers the Labajong La Pass at 4,400 meters, with an optional detour for even more majestic views. Depending on campsite availability and water sources, which vary pre- and post-monsoon, you'll set up camp near Panka. Be prepared for a potentially different route if you choose to climb Jomo Peak, offering an alternative adventure with stunning vistas.
8KM/7 HOURS/180M ASCENT-1100M DESCENT
Today's trek offers stunning sunrises with views of Kanchenjunga, Jhomolhari, and Jichu Drake. Traverse rhododendron forests and conquer the Chole La Pass at 4,100 meters. Descend to Kiwi Chowa and a four-way pass, then follow the north route past a ruined dzong. Ascend a ridge for panoramic views from Talakha Peak at 4,300 meters before descending to a campsite near Talakha Monastery at 3,080 meters.
6KM/3 HOURS/440M DESCENT
Trek for three hours to Chamgang, where we will meet our driver and car. From there, we will drive to Thimphu. Upon arrival, relax and unwind in the comfort of your hotel, reflecting on the day's journey and the beautiful landscapes encountered along the way. Enjoy the evening at your leisure, exploring Thimphu's vibrant culture or simply resting after a fulfilling trek.
Embark on a day excursion to the Punakha Valley, passing through the panoramic Dochula Pass with its breathtaking views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to Drukpa Kunley, and explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel set at the confluence of two rivers. After a day of cultural and scenic exploration, return to your hotel and rest, reflecting on the beauty and heritage experienced throughout the day.
