DAY 1: ARRIVE GELEPHU

Upon landing at Guwahati Airport, you will embark on a 231 km drive, taking nearly five and a half hours to reach Gelephu. Gelephu is a vibrant border town and an important trading hub. After completing the necessary immigration formalities, you will be warmly welcomed by a tour representative from Trogon Travels, showcasing Bhutanese hospitality. They will assist with your transfer to the hotel, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition. The journey promises scenic views and a glimpse into the rich culture and traditions of Bhutan, setting the tone for an unforgettable adventure.

DAY 2: TSIRANG

After breakfast, we will travel over the Bhutan plains, with mountains on one side and Indian plains on the other. Along the way, we may spot hornbills and even encounter Asiatic elephants. After passing the first immigration check, we begin our ascent to Tsirang, a journey rich with opportunities to see various bird species. The transition from plains to mountains offers diverse habitats, making this leg of the trip a delightful experience for nature and bird enthusiasts alike.

DAY 3: PUNAKHA

Start the day with birding around the hotel, then drive to Changchey to spot the elusive White-bellied Heron. After enjoying the sightings, proceed further to Punakha. The journey offers diverse bird-watching opportunities and scenic views, making it a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts.

DAY 4: NOBDING

DAY 5: TRONGSA

DAY 6: TINGTIBI

DAY 7: GOMPHU

Driving and birding along the road through sub-tropical broadleaved forest, one can find birds like Great Hornbill, Long-tailed Sibia, Beautiful Nuthatch, Rufous-necked Hornbill, White-rumped Munia, Spotted Forktail, Slaty-backed Forktail, Grey Bushchat, Crested Bunting, Sultan Tit, Yellow-cheeked Tit, Red-vented Bulbul, Black Bulbul, Striated Prinia, Hill Prinia, Mountain Tailorbird, Hume’s Warbler, Sultan Tit.

DAY 8: PANGBANG

Pass the Gomphu campsite and drive east towards Pangbang, enjoying birding opportunities along the way. The route offers scenic views and a chance to spot various bird species in their natural habitats. The journey is a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts, with lush forests and diverse wildlife. As you approach Pangbang, the excitement builds with each sighting. DAY 9: TINGTIBI

After breakfast, you will embark on the return journey to Tingtibi, covering 73 km. Along the way, enjoy birding by the roadside, spotting various species in their natural habitats. The drive offers picturesque views and opportunities to see unique avian life, making it a rewarding experience for bird enthusiasts. The lush landscapes and diverse ecosystems ensure a memorable journey as you observe the vibrant birdlife. DAY 10: TINGTIBI

We will be exploring and Birding in sub-tropical broadleaved forests. We will drive along the road and stop on the way for birding. Evening, come back to Tingtibi for a night halt. Species you will see for the day trip, are bunting, White-rumped Munia, Olive-backed Pipit, White Wagtail, Streaked Spiderhunter, White-browed Scimitar Babbler, Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler.

DAY 11: GELEPHU

Passing by Tamala Pass, you'll have the chance to spot various bird species such as Ward's Trogon and others. This route offers an excellent birding experience with diverse habitats along the way. The dense forests and scenic landscapes create a perfect environment for observing a wide range of avian life. Each turn in the road brings new opportunities to spot colorful and rare birds, making the journey both exciting and rewarding.
